Prairie and Beyond published
Turnstone Press in Winnipeg has published a coffee-table book, Prairie and Beyond, shot by local photographer Mike Grandmaison. The $40 publication’s imagery includes mountains, grasslands, forests, drylands, wetlands and the subarctic shots taken in locations ranging from the Canadian Shield to the Rocky Mountains. Grandmaison’s photography has been published internationally in magazines, calendars and books. With a background in biology, he worked for the Canadian Forest Service in Edmonton and Winnipeg for 20 years. Since he turned to photography full time in 1996, he has published four collections of his natural landscape photography, and he recently opened The Canadian Gallery in Winnipeg.
