Illustrating the 100th year of the Calgary Stampede
For the 100th year of Calgary Stampede campaign, artist Ciara Phelan had to create six different 3D pop-up illustrations. Most of the items she included in her montage were official Calgary Stampede’s objects shipped directly to her specially for the project.
Represented by Colagene Illustration Clinic, Phelan is an illustrator working from Open Studio in North London, in the U.K. She particularly enjoys collecting vintage ephemera and old encyclopaedias, and likes to mix old imagery with contemporary geometric patterns and paper crafts in her work.
