BBC Olympic video animates Stadium U.K.

Leading up to its coverage of the London Olympics, starting this Friday, the BBC released this animated video showing athletes performing in different disciplines. Apparentlty the stylized animated approach, turning the U.K. landscape into a sporting arena, is causing some controversy among the viewing public.

According to the YouTube description: “The trailer is based around the concept of ‘Stadium UK’ – bringing the nation together in a huge Olympic Stadium to enjoy the BBC’s comprehensive coverage of the London 2012 Games. Designed to be used across all the BBC’s television, radio and digital Olympic content, it features the specially commissioned music ‘First Steps’ by Elbow.”

Not much of an article really, is it. You tell us the animation is causing a controversy. How about telling us why!!!

Seems there’s a technical glitch, Steve. I just spoke with the team at AA, and they said the article links to the BBC site with full details … but for some of us, the link didn’t work.
