Toronto designer and artist Frank Viva has illustrated another New Yorker magazine cover, with an Olympic theme for the London Games.
On the magazine’s blog he explains: ”“I like the idea of the Olympics because it’s such an international event. All these countries coming together, and, for the most part, showing their best side. And I like the contrast between the acrobatic delicacy of the tiny gymnasts and the bulkiness of the gigantic weightlifters. There’s a kind of hopefulness around the Olympics—that you can fiercely compete and still be civilized.“
