Title: The last hours of Vitaline Chene
She always thought she would live to a be 100 years-old, but she got mixed up on her birth date, a few months before. We gathered around her bed for 11 days, telling her favorite stories, combing her hair, and stroking her hands. She was stubborn as a mule. When we stepped out for a minute to get dinner, she decided she was done with our stories and fell asleep.
