Treehouse was made as style exploration for Open House, a motion media project about the joy of reading a book. The illustration and the resulting motion media project were inspired by Madeleine L'Engle, a writer, who said, "A book, too, can be a star, 'explosive material, capable of stirring up fresh life endlessly,' a living fire to lighten the darkness, leading out into the expanding universe.”
