Using imagery from its own collections, the University of Virginia Library’s 2014 Annual Report centers on a “constant” motif in maintaining its core mission: to serve the pursuit of knowledge. The cover features the North Star, inspired by commitment to its academic purpose, pierced by a hole drilled through the entire book. As the reader turns the pages, the opening remains static, interacting with the artwork as homage to the library’s enduring guidance.
