Human size donation boxes that featured real homeless people were created and placed in locations people often come across the homeless. The messaging let people know that a donation here helps free the homeless from living here. Hard to ignore, these boxes allowed people to contribute without feeling uncomfortable about the encounter. Manned by volunteers, people could interact and engage in the cause and link their donation to a positive, longer term solution.
