Todagin Mountain in remote northern British Columbia is home to what is believed to be the largest herd of Stone’s sheep in the world. The herd is an important part of the local ecosystem, supporting grizzly bears and wolves. Hunters from around the world hunt on Todagin, contributing to the local economy of the Tahltan First Nation. An open-pit gold and copper mine is proposed for the very plateau the herd inhabits.
