Dance and photography are contradictory by nature. One embodies movement, rhythm and gesture while the other serves to freeze the moment for eternity. Once the act of dance has been captured it seems to take on sculptural elements and allows the viewer to see from a perspective they normally wouldn’t. This body of work captures those moments and the interaction of static poses, bursts of energy, and rhythm in various genres of dance.
