Trampoline created a timely and effective advertising campaign with Discover Halifax. Through this campaign the agency and client highlight that in these troubled times we are not alone rather "We are in the same boat." And so why not go to Halifax for “a big, relaxing breath of sea air" with client like most of us in large urban centres seek out these days?


East Coast agency Trampoline put together a campaign with destination marketing clients Discover Halifax in response to the anxiety and whiplash Canadians are feeling regarding American trade threats, and the corresponding swell of Canadian pride and an enthusiasm for domestic tourism.

Outside of Atlantic Canada, Discover Halifax is positioned as ‘the elixir to the stresses of urban living’, and the news cycle so far in 2025 made us realize that our target was more likely than ever to be seeking that elixir. 

This year, in just a few months, there is so much that has everyone’s blood pressure up. Wanting to address that, and knowing we had to move quickly, the campaign was born. To do it right, the campaign moved away from anything that could be described as a “sell”.  This isn’t about convincing people to book a trip, just a message that Halifax understands how we all feel and we know we’ll pull through.

 


“Our brand platform has been using familiar and negative idioms as headlines for years.  The headlines like “Rub Salt In Your Wounds” are intentionally edgy, and with the imagery, encouraged people to come here to heal and relax. But, we wanted to show that we understand the moment and the need for unity, without pushing a sell.”
