Not just one design identity project but TWO

Karolina Loboda, Creative Director, KLDS, Toronto, ON, was commissioned to create design identities for two neighbouring restaurants Besos by Patria and Vinny Restaurant + Vinyl Bar located side by side on King Street West in Toronto, Ontario Canada. 

Beso by Patria and Vinny Restaurant + Vinyl Bar are two distinct yet interconnected hospitality brands located side by side on Toronto’s iconic King Street, both developed for INK Entertainment Group. This rare opportunity allowed Karolina to create two complete brand worlds, each capturing its own unique spirit and atmosphere.

For Beso by Patria, the identity is infused with sultry Spanish romance and modern sensuality. The custom logotype transforms each letter into a metaphor for the dining experience, while the icon captures the magnetic pause before a kiss. A MidJourney-created flamenco dancer and heart motif carry the visual narrative across touch points, delivering a poetic, authentic Spanish dining experience. Tagline: A kiss of Spain in every bite

The concept for Vinny Restaurant + Vinyl Bar is magnetic and effortlessly cool, rooted in music, food, and connection. The word mark blends retro soul with modern sophistication, while campaign imagery created in MidJourney evokes a late-night party mood. Every brand element—from menus to signage to custom vinyl coasters—was designed to set the tone for unexpected, unforgettable nights.  Tagline: Your night starts and ends here.

A striking 90-foot shared wall visually connects the two restaurants while maintaining their distinct personalities—Beso’s romantic, passionate storytelling on one side, and Vinny’s vibrant, mysterious energy on the other.

Karolina, why is this project a favourite?

It was a dream and rare opportunity to brand two restaurants side by side on one of Toronto’s most iconic streets. This project allowed me to demonstrate the power of brand and emotion, crafting two unique worlds and dining experiences that not only stand strongly on their own but also complement each other in a shared environment.
