Baillat Debuts a Wild New Website
November 22, 2017
The two-year-old company needed to highlight its projects, most of which weren’t visible on the prior placeholder-like site, says founder Jean-Sébastien Baillat. “The previous version was eye candy more than a real website.”
This new site’s still got the visual effects covered, but it’s also technologically innovative. “This is the first-ever infinite website,” explains Baillat. “You can infinitely scroll from top to bottom and also from left to right on the main page.” (Go ahead, try it.) Baillat worked with London-based UX designer Mike Guppy, a collaborator from his Red Bull Music Academy project, on the site.
The “Wild Design” theme speaks to the mantra of the studio. “It relates to our intention to push the visual boundaries when there is the opportunity to do so,” says Baillat. For his firm's second anniversary, he commissioned numbered, limited-edition “Wild Design” posters by illustrator Stéphane Poirier, whose artworks are also featured on the site. Check them out below.
