In this body of work, I’m coming to terms with loss. As my family gets older, the memories they’ve created have become clouded through age and lost through the passing of my family’s elders. Afraid of losing any more of these precious items and stories, I’ve decided to photograph the old home place. Exploring vestige with the understanding that I’ll be the last generation in my family to have any first-hand knowledge of this homestead, I want to honor its belongings and memories.
