To support the Day of Mourning, an international day to remember those who died from work-related accidents, the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board of Ontario created Typefaces of the Fallen. A custom-built, hand-crafted typeface inspired by the likeness and stories of Canadians who died in the workplace. It was used to develop new, more impactful workplace safety signs that uniquely memorialized the deceased and gave workers a more powerful reason to pause and rethink workplace safety.
