Floating City is a large-scale copperplate etching inspired by Liang Xiaosheng's novel of the same name. Rather than illustrating the story literally, the work reconstructs fragmented moments from the novel into a single, panoramic world. Influenced by Bosch and Bruegel, the composition brings together multiple social scenes and emotional states, forming a dense visual landscape that reflects instability, moral tension, and collective experience within a rapidly changing city.
