Writing and receiving letters and building connections with people outside of prison can provide a sense of hope, validation, and encouragement. Furthermore, prisoners who have regular contact with family and a lower chance of returning after being released. Dove creates their own colour sheets of non-toxic pigment to be used for makeup in women's prisons, similar to the technology used in water colour sheets.
