I am interested in ways of living that preserve the possibility of leaving. This painting depicts a rotary clothesline—an object that carries the weight of everyday life yet folds down and moves with ease. By removing the background, I leave it unanchored, allowing the clothesline to become a quiet portrait of a person always ready to leave.
