Commissioned to complement three concurrent exhibitions of Lois Andison’s sculptures, relay plays on the idea of electrical relays. The use of copper foil stamping on the cover references conductivity; copper wires being essential components necessary to power Andison’s kinetic works. The copper foil treatment continues subtly throughout the catalogue, mirroring and repeating as single letters that sustain the title’s concept. The cover is finished with a soft-touch varnish that feels like skin, suggesting the artist’s slick yet tactile and intimate work.
