A collection of drawings, abstract imagery, quotes, and essays that explores the distinction between visual skill and talent. The book guides the reader through five common phases of visual development: exploration (doodles), repetition (sketching basics), application (still-lifes), variation (multimedia), and redefinition (digital) through parallel narratives created by the text and varying styles of compositions. The book uses transparencies to hide and reveal content, allowing for manipulation of pacing, and facilitates a theme of discovery.
