Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood yet blood shortages are and have been happening all too frequently. That’s why Facebook developed a Messenger chat bot to help increase donation frequency by informing individuals when and where their blood is needed most. These Blood Type Bots use Apple’s Health app to determine an individual’s blood type and then notifies individuals when they near hospitals that need more of their blood type.
