Full Punch Redefines Equine Branding

Vancouver agency Full Punch has turned eating like a horse into a positive.

American equine food producer Stable Feed chose Vancouver-based Full Punch to handle the creative duties of developing its new brand and packaging.

Most equine food producers are still producing food that contains processed ingredients with little to no nutritional value. And their packaging reflects this. StableFeed is leading the industry by producing supplements with natural ingredients like papaya, spirulina, prickly pear and chia – superfoods, for super horses.

Full Punch’s packaging designs incorporate playful Victorian-style illustrations that reflect a bygone era and the ingredients magic.  Each nutrition-packed SKU depicts riders doing their thing from showjumping to dressage, perched atop the primary ingredient to highlight the nutraceutical benefits. The packaging is a celebration of the expression, "you are what you eat."

Full Punch Partner, Head of Creative Chris Zawada, says, "By turning the awe-inspiring ingredients into horses, the packaging shines a light on the difference between StableFeed and the competition. With a relatively small marketing budget, StableFeed required hard-working, creative packaging that would communicate the natural benefits and stands out on the shelf."

Breathing life into the Stable Feed branding helps to redefine the category. According to founder Mary Hartman, “Our new brand and packaging say it all, without having to say anything."

Full Punch is developing StableFeed's larger-volume feed packaging on the heels of the supplement brand's success.
