The restaurant's name, "Verses", was in English. Though the French equivalent, "Vers", was pretty close, the name had to be clear in both languages since it was part of Hotel Nelligan, named after one of Canada's most famous poets and the reason why the "Verses/Vers" name was chosen in the first place. We played with the letters and created a typographical break that showed both French and English in a single word. We then developed a program of perfect squares made up of 9 or 16 letters, which allowed us to add several descriptives to the main business name and develop an extensive I.D. program: Verses Restaurant, Verses Bar, Verses Men, Verses Women?
