Illustrations from the children's book “Indira Gandhi” by Paola Capriolo, Edizioni El, Italy 2009. The book talks about the life of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India. She was assassinated in 1984. We didn't want to create images with an ethnic style but we wanted to respect the richness of the colors and decoration of the Indian art through our free interpretation. We used acrylic on pakistan paper and digital: photoshop.
