This large illustration is one of a series of Flemish folktales originally conceived for the cultural bike path network in Langemark-Poelkapelle, Belgium. It tells the story of a meeting between a magical shepherd, part mythical devil, and a group of proud girls on their way to a local fair. This project gave me the opportunity to dive into a faraway oral history and bring this magical world to live with pencil, collage and digital manipulation.
