Feb 26, 2004; Port-Au-Prince, Haiti; A Haitian man killed by rebels lies dead in the street as a bystander looks on. Rebels are wreaking havoc on the country as they try to overthrow Aristide. They have delayed attacking the capital due to an appeal by the US for Aristide to step down. Meanwhile, anarchy has spread in the capital, with 80 people dead and residents looting warehouses. March 1, 2004; Port-Au-Prince, HAITI; The body of Aristide gang members, the 'chimere' were killed overnight by the police near this garbage dump several miles down the road from the capital. They have tied their hands behind their backs and shot them in the head. A dark cycle of violence is repeating itself, as Haiti finds itself again on the brink of another revolt. Mar 07, 2004; Port-Au-Prince, HAITI; Opponents of ex-president Jean Bertrand Aristide stage a demonstration in volatile Port-au-Prince. A group of 10,000 demonstrators, celebrating the overthrow of president Jean Bertrand Aristide, was working its way through the streets when bullets sprayed into the crowd and this young boy was caught up in the chaos.
