I was inspired to step outside my comfort zone and explore a medium I wasn't quite familiar with. Traditionally, I've always used dark charcoal on white paper. Usually focusing on the shadows. I wanted to attempt the opposite of that whilst also focusing more on where the light hits my face. For the facial expressions I wanted to exhibit the emotions I was feeling at the time. Sorrow, Stress, Anxiety. Fear of the future. And how there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, through the dark.
