The images of the Oblivion series consider Canadian road narratives. Here the vastness and isolation of Canada is represented with solid white walls. Although roadways connect us and give us the opportunity to explore, sometimes we wind up seeing less. This references 19th century philosophers who believed that technological advancement caused detachment from the natural world. By isolating the roads, attention is brought to their beauty as well as lack of inherent identity.
