The reason why we refer to some forms of alcohol is a matter of some conjecture. There is no denying, however, the conjuring power of Toronto-based commercial food photographer Paula Wilson’s photography series ELEVATED SPIRITS.

The images in the series, which won a 2021 Photography Award in the Self-Promotion Photography – Series, feel surreal and spooky, like something you would find in Ed and Lorraine Warren’s “Occult Museum” or the table setting at a soiree of sorcerers and alchemists.
