Exciting News For The 2019 Applied Arts Awards Competitions
Jen Aurich, Swimmers. Travel Photography – Single. 2017

For nearly 30 years the Applied Arts Awards have helped raise the bar of creative excellence by promoting award-winning artists, both professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Entering the Applied Arts Photography & Illustration Awards gives these artists a competitive edge with exposure to visual communicators who are seeking talent for new advertising and design projects.

NEW USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE

For 2019 we are excited to announce a number of changes to our Awards program, designed with you in mind. First, we have listened to your feedback and have spent numerous months re-designing our website to offer you a more user-friendly experience. The new website has been designed to address ease of entry to the Awards, to better showcase winning work, with a new interactive Winner’s Gallery plus we have included a new feature that allows winners to share their work instantly via multiple social media platforms.

NEW EARLY BIRD PRICING

This year we are also introducing new Early Bird pricing for each Award category. Submitting your entries prior to the Early Bird deadline allows you to save $10 per entry. That means you can take those savings and treat yourself and a friend to coffee. Better yet, why not enter more of your exceptional work!

Photo & Illustration entries must be submitted and paid for by midnight January 25th to qualify for the Early Bird rate. The final deadline to submit entries is Friday, February 1, 2019.

NEW COMMUNITY AWARDS INTEGRATION

The Community Awards were launched in 2017, to help Canadian artists and studios working on smaller, local clients get the recognition they deserve without having to directly compete with big-budget projects by large agencies or studios. This year the Community Awards categories will be integrated within each Awards program, allowing winning work to be viewed not only amongst their peers, but also within the appropriate creative landscape.

 YOUNG BLOODS

If you are a recent graduate, within the last three years, you may be eligible to enter one of our Young Blood categories. The Young Blood categories are similarly judged on creative merit, technical excellence and suitability for end use, however they also take in to account the level of professional experience of the entrants.

We hope you are as excited for this Awards season as we are! All the aforementioned changes were made to provide you with a more user-friendly, positive Awards experience. We eagerly look forward to viewing your exceptional work.

Don’t forget – you only have 10 more days to take advantage of the Early Bird Photography & Illustration fees.
