Mount Seymour's Unofficial New Identity

Designer Ken Paul, CGD shares a recent personal project with us:

A poster to celebrate the mountain bike trails of Mount Seymour. Located in the District of North Vancouver, BC and the Mount Seymour Provincial Park, the mountain bike trails here are like no other. As unique as they are to mountain biking, so too are their names: Cardiac Bypass, Severed D, Boogieman and Dirty Diapers, to name a few.
After becoming familiar with the trails, I thought of a way I could combine my love of maps and geography, cycling and graphic design into one project. The poster would serve as homage to some of the original “North Shore” trails as well as a great design challenge for myself.

The poster hangs as two Pantone colours on 100# Cougar Offset Cover, printed by Marine Printers, Inc. of Vancouver, BC. It’s a limited edition print of 100 copies, each one hand numbered. At the end of the year, I will personally donate $5 from each poster that is sold to the North Shore Mountain Bike Association.—Ken Paul
