Here's a look at Union's campaign LGBTQR Codes for The Get REAL Movement
According to Eckersley, the 2018 Ontario government ban on LGBTQ+ education from schools created an opportunity. We knew that students were frustrated by not having access to the LGBTQ+ curriculum, and we also knew that if there’s one thing students constantly have access to…it’s their phones.
That's why they created the LGBTQR Code, and turned students into secret teaching tools by turning their phones into an instant education. We put specially-designed QR codes on T-shirts and gave them to students. Other students simply had to scan the QR code in order to get access to the LGBTQ+ education that the government was denying them.
