SingleCut is an NYC craft brewery inspired by rock ‘n’ roll. In 2019, the brand aimed to debut a new beer in Japan – a nation big on rock music, gaming and QR codes.Introducing the first Spotify-enabled beer: BIG IN JAPAN IPA. Four unique labels featured QR codes made of visual clues for songs that were literally big in Japan. This turned each label into a Name That Tune game. By scanning the code, consumers could listen to the actual song on Spotify – revealing the answer to the game.
