No Frills made the first video game about grocery shopping. Acting like a game publisher vs. a grocery store, we launched this year's promotion with an innovation of our own – the Frill Blaster Pro. Paying homage to nostalgic tech, we used capacitive touch and parts found in the produce aisle to turn bananas into a fully functional video game controller. Product nomenclature and packaging mirrored the 8-bit game's retro aesthetic, and even included a zero-waste, post-play banana bread recipe.
