One in five teens in the US cannot afford period products and one in seven Canadian teens have missed school due to lack of access to menstrual products. Yet, only a handful of provinces and states are creating legislation to address the issue. Periods for Periods was created to be a form of design activism that could visually unify the protest going on across North America, by inviting over 140 designers from across the globe to create a font made entirely of periods.
