The ELEKTRA International Digital Arts Festival combines electronic music with avant-garde visual arts. To attract newcomers, we invited webizens to experience the event remotely. On the ELEKTRA website, users met, talked and interacted with festival goers thanks to an interactive art installation on the festival grounds named YOU ARE NOT HERE. Of the 16 000 people who visited the website, 6 000 traded in their virtual environment for the real-life experience of the ELEKTRA Festival.
