Plastic bottles, bags, polystyrene foam plates and cups are found in the Pacific Ocean gyre. It is estimated that marine trash kills over approximately 100,000 mammals a year. A few victims consist of sea turtles, sea lions and dolphins. The garbage patch exponentially increases each year and is disrupting the habitats of most aquatic animals.
