I came to the Hijabi Ballers with an idea. A passionate proposal. I asked them if we could tell their story. The energy on our shoot day was electric, loud, intimate and free. I made my lens their opponent. Shout! Scream! Shoot! We concluded the day with a series of seated interviews, where I sat with the girls and asked them a few questions I had about what it is truly like to be a Muslim female athlete. Their openness, sisterhood, and togetherness formed a narrative. This is that narrative.
