Amelie is one of my favorite movies and scratchboard is one of my favorite mediums. I used elements of the movie that represent her innocence (animal clouds) and her quest or purpose in life (garden gnome). I wanted to express that she, as a grown up, keeps her world of dreams and innocence alive, and that the character of Amelie is a person who is very fluid and whimsical.
