In this book cover redesign, a break from the typical look of the classic novel was called for. I decided to shake things up a little by mixing the classic with the contemporary. Modern, vibrant colour was used in contrast to the traditional style label and the illustrated pen and ink image. The challenge was making the jackets mainly typographic. When I think of classic novels, pen and ink the parchment comes to mind. The approach was so effective that the design could be carried through to any classic novel.
