Zoo Harlequin is a caricature illustration depicting the ridiculous nature of how we treat and view zoo animals. This illustration came about after looking at the baboons at the zoo, and how we laugh and look at these poor creatures like how we used to treat medieval jesters, harlequins and clowns. I wanted to show how demeaning this is through the posture and costume of the fed up animal.
