South Africa’s Dawid Mocke plunges ahead to lead the 2009 Chicago Shoreline Marathon, which launched into 3-4 foot waves, sometimes 6, on Lake Michigan. Shooting from a small chase boat as the race’s official photog, I was tossed around so much I ached for 3 days after. What fun!
