These images are from a larger series: BERLIN - National Socialist Architecture 1933-1945. Although modernized for the 2006 World Cup, the stadium here looks much as it did during the 1936 Olympic Games. Hitler personally intervened in the design of the stadium, and his architect Albert Speer modified its outward appearance to keep it more in line with the Roman Colosseum.
